Security

Private by design, not by policy

DeviceFlow keeps your data on your devices and your network. There is no server to breach because there is no server.

Encrypted end-to-end. All traffic between your Mac and phone is encrypted. Nobody else can read it.

Token-based authentication

A 32-character cryptographically random token is generated once on Android. Every Mac connection must present it. Verified with timing-safe comparison — never plain string equality.

No internet access on Android

The Android app binds exclusively to your LAN interface and does not request the INTERNET permission. Your data cannot leave the local network.

Secure credential storage

Tokens are stored in Android EncryptedSharedPreferences and in the macOS Keychain. Never in plain files or logs.

Rate limiting & input sanitization

Outbound calls are rate-limited (3 per 60 seconds). Phone numbers are sanitized before dialing. Oversized packets close the connection immediately.

Known limitations to check before you buy

DeviceFlow works well for most setups, but there are a handful of current constraints we want to be upfront about. That's what the free trial is for.

One phone per Mac — single device pairing only. Multi-device support is planned for a future release.
Manual install required — not on the Play Store or Mac App Store yet. Android requires enabling "Install unknown apps"; Mac requires a one-time security override.
Call control on custom Android builds — Answer/Decline work reliably on stock Android (Pixel). Heavily customized builds like Samsung OneUI or Xiaomi MIUI may not support call control. Just try it out in your trial.
